Traveling for a few days next week to take my son back to school in Toronto. Sunday will be an uber busy day for me. My husband is fantastic but when it comes to cooking…..well, let’s just say that it’s not pretty. I always harp back to the day he left the boiled potatoes in the water after he turned off the heat. Apparently I didn’t tell him to drain them!
I have 5 days of food for him and the girls and snack foods for me and my boy for the plane. What do you usually take with you to eat on the plane? I always pack cucumber (for hydration), chopped red pepper (great anti-oxidant), egg muffins and homemade beef jerky. I also take an empty water bottle and fill it once I get through security. It’s not that I’m stingy but don’t they take the Mickey on the water prices. I hate being taken advantage of and the price of bottled water is criminal. They so take advantage of the fact that you can’t carry water through security.
Parents, please, no crappy juice for kids. I was on a flight recently and I watched a mother feed her kids a sticky sweet juice. I know it was sticky and sweet as she left some in the overhead bins. Fortunately for me, it didn’t drip down all over my clothes. The little sleeping girl behind me had that pleasure. It did however soak my bag so I felt it on my hands. It was no wonder that her kid was fractious the whole flight. If it stains my bag and creates a sticky residue on the plastic bins, imagine what it’s doing to your kid’s gut.
Enough of that……..
