Day 23 – getting close to the end of the month

Have you been watching the Commonwealth Games or the Crossfit Games or both?

I’ve been watching both. Can’t stop laughing at Ross Murdoch’s reaction to his win. Well done to Brett Fraser. Wouldn’t it be nice if Camille Leblanc Bazinet won the Games for CF Games this year. Will Rich Froning make up the points to win again?

Thursday was a tough day. We rescued a stray kitten last week and sent it off to the vet to be speyed. The poor little thing was really skinny so I decided to keep her to fatten her up before letting her go to live with the other stray cats on our street (which we also feed and water). Anyway, on Thursday I noticed some awful swelling in her lower abdominal area so I took her back to the vet. The vet kept the kitten and prepared me for the worst. I felt awful thinking that my good turn could actually kill the kitten. We thought it was a hernia following the speying. Just found out today that she actually had a blockage in her bowel. My feeding her probably brought the issue to light. Anyway, she’s had surgery and she’s recovering at the vet. We’ll know better how she is tomorrow.

Food went slightly to pots as Dane and I spent 2 1/2 hours at the vet.

Thursday’s food.

Lemon water on waking

Breakfast – thick oatmeal with blueberries and toasted nut and seed mixture

Snack – melon and mango

Lunch – an egg pancake filled with mustard greens, tomato and avocado (the picture)

Snack – Brazil nuts

Dinner (very late) Рroast chicken with saut̩ed bak choi

Drinks 2 coffees, herbal tea and water

Not enough veg to eat today and probably not enough carbs either although I did feel absolutely fine!

You must read Saturday’s post. I’ll be sharing the breadfruit and parsnip pizza recipe.

Have a great weekend!
