So, the sugarless thing is sweet 🙂
I’ve done a week now. I feel great and I’m definitely not craving sugary food. I’ve had my sniffles and headaches. The one thing I’ve done differently this time is not add in to my diet, loads of paleo cakes. Last time I did this (and all the times before), I compensated for the lack of chocolate and sweet things by making lots of paleo or grain free cakes. I ended up making a cake and eating half of it in one day. Although I didn’t really notice anything right at the start, to be honest, I think I was too busy dealing with all of the other detox symptoms, I certainly noticed it after 2 to 3 weeks when my belly started to swell and I identified quite obvious digestive issues. I won’t go into the details (you can ask James Murray to elaborate). Anyway, I ended up taking digestive enzymes and for a few weeks after the challenge finished. Not good!! It didn’t occur to me just how much coconut flour I was eating and how many nuts it took to make the almond flour I was eating. I was easily eating over 50 almonds a day! All of that on top of my normal food. It’s no wonder my belly was aching.
This time, you will see a definite increase in fat, salad and vegetables with a restriction on the quantity of nuts. What you think is good for you might be doing you harm!
Anyway, here’s today’s food.
Lemon water on waking
Breakfast – 4 eggs, a tablespoon of ground almonds and a handful of blueberries made into my protein pancake
Snack – a mango and a half of a homemade protein bar with carob
Lunch – skipped and a visit to the gym
Snack – protein shake with protein powder and strawberries and a tablespoon of coconut oil
Dinner – strip loin steak with stir fried vegetables (picture)(the kids had the same!) I had 2 squares of 100% cocoa chocolate too
Drinks – 3 coffees (my husband’s fault. He made me the third!!) and tonnes of water.
Observation – too much coffee today!
Bone broth in the slow cooker for tomorrow. Yum! My favourite 🙂
